The Institute also works with civil society to develop mechanisms for accountability, transparency and responsiveness between political actors and constituents. IRI encourages a wide range of civil society sectors to identify local issues of mutual concern and helps these groups develop the capacity to design solutions to these issues through dialogue and consensus. IRI also highlights the importance of building relationships and communication mechanisms between civil society and elected officials.
