DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR OBTAINING NEW POC Pakistan Origin Card

1-POC Form Dully filled.
2-Two Blue background Passport size photographs.
3-Copy of self/parent Pakistani ID card, if any.
4-Copy of relative Pakistani ID/NICOP card
5-Copy of own Foreign valid passport 
6-Renunciation Letter 
7-Copy of marriage certificate in case your spouse is Pakistani National(For females only)
8-Fees for POC is US $100 above 18 years of age
9-Fees for POC is US $50 below 18 years of age
10-Applicant has to Fill POC application form again for any correction / Modification / renewal (with all relevant documents)


Note: - Please note that you have to provide the (valid) Blood relative’s documents showing your relation with him/her, such marriage certificate in case of Pakistani Spouse.

What is Maximum length of Applicant Name?

As per business rules of NADRA, applicant's name should be less than 27 characters including spaces.

What is Fee for POC?

1-      Fee for POC is United States Dollar One Hundred (US $ 100) for a person 18 years of age or above .


2- United States Dollar Fifty ( US $ 50) for a person less than 18 years of age.

3- CNIC / NICOP cancellation fee = $ 120 US

4- Fee for POC modification / Correction / Renewal as under,

Below 18 years: $ 80 

Above 18 years: $ 150.

What is validity Period of POC?

POC shall be valid for a period of 7 years from the date of issuance.


Who is eligible for POC?

All Pakistan origin immigrants, foreigners and their family members with annulled nationality. 
Under the rules, following persons can apply for POC, namely: 
People of Pakistani Origin: This includes three types of persons:
Former Pakistani Citizens:
- Any person who does not currently hold Pakistani citizenship 
but has ever remained a Pakistani citizen in his/her lifetime. 
Following persons are however, excluded from this category, 
namely: 
- Any person who was deprived of Pakistan citizenship by an order 
passed by the Federal -Government under subsection (2) or 
subsection (3) of section 16 of the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951 
(II of 1951). 
- A person who ceased to be a Pakistani citizen upon creation of 
Bangladesh pursuant to subsection (1) of section 16-A of the 
Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951 (II of 1951). 
- A Pakistani citizen who was domiciled in the territories of the 
hitherto Province of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) but who, 
before 16 th December 1971, ceased to be a Pakistani citizen and 
acquired the nationality or citizenship of a foreign country 
(excluding India and Israel) unless he or she can prove at least 
one of his living relatives to be presently a citizen of Pakistan. 
- Any person currently holding citizenship or nationality of
Israel 
or
India .

Foreigners with links to Pakistan : 
The following persons are eligible to apply for POC in this category, namely: 

- A person who has never been a Pakistani citizen but any of whose 
parents or grandparents is/was a citizen of Pakistan at any time 
during his/her lifetime, provided that
- At least one of his living relatives is presently a Pakistani 
citizen;
- He is not, and never was, a citizen or national of India or 
Israel; 
- None of his parents or grandparents has ever been a citizen or 
national of India or Israel unless such parent after having 
acquired Pakistani citizenship never acquired/re-acquired 
citizenship or nationality of India or Israel. 

Any person who has never been a Pakistani citizen but who either 
himself, or any of whose parents or grandparents,
- Was born in the territories included in the Indo-Pak sub-continent;
- Was domiciled in the territories now included in Pakistan; 
- Who acquired the citizenship or nationality of a foreign state or 
country before the commencement of the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 
1951 (II of 1951) i.e. 13 th April 1951. Such person shall have to 
prove that at least one of his living relatives is presently a 
Pakistani citizen. This category however, excludes all persons who 
are, or have ever been, citizens or nationals of
India or Israel. 

Pakistani citizens stranded in
Bangladesh, i.e. those who continue to be citizens of Pakistan pursuant to the first proviso to subsection (1) of section 16-A of the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951 (II of 1951), may not apply for POC.

NOTE:
Pakistani citizens who are holding dual nationality or are only on work or residence permit in a country outside
Pakistan, are not eligible for Pakistan Origin Card (POC) but eligible for National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).


What are Benefits for POC holders?

Visa-free entry into Pakistan

• Exemption from foreigner registration requirements 
• Permission to purchase and sell property 
• Right to open and operate bank accounts 
• Substitute for the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) 
where proof of identity is required

Where can I get the application form for the POC?

1-You can get the application form from the Pakistan Embassy of 
Pakistan if you are abroad. 
2-From any of the NADRA Swift Registration Centers (SRCs) if you are 
in
Pakistan.
3-You can also download it from the NADRA website.
 

Is it advisable to travel through POC or through visa on foreign passport?

Traveling to your motherland through POC is a hassle-free journey every time, as you don’t require visa on your foreign passport any more. 
You also save time and money by not having to go to the embassy.

I have a NICOP. Do I also need a POC?

 You do not need a POC if you have a NICOP. Possession of NICOP means
that you have dual nationality.
- The POC would be required if you had a single, non-Pakistani 
nationality.

Do I need a personal reference for the POC?

-You need a reference from any of your Pakistani blood relatives who 
reside in
Pakistan.
-Your relation to your relative should be verifiable through 
documentation such as your relative’s NIC.

Where can I collect my POC card?

-If you are in Pakistan, you can collect your card from your local NADRA Central Distribution Point (CDC). 
-If you reside abroad, you can collect your card from the Pakistan Embassy.
-You can also select Foreign home delivery for POC.

In case NICOP / POC has been lost during shipment ?

If NICOP / POC has been lost during Shipment (From DHL) applicant is requested to please contact nearest DHL office for "Shipment / Card lost letter" and apply for reprint of said card through concerned Embassy / Consulate General of Pakistan.

Fee for Cancellation of NICs / CNICs / NICOPs

Fee for Cancellation of NICs / CNICs / NICOPs respecting those Pakistanis who have renounced Pakistani Nationality is : US $ 120/-

Fee for cancellation of POC

Fee for cancellation of POC in case of aquiring Pakistani nationality or Nationality of Dual National Country is: US $ 200/-
